Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your information when you visit longchildhood.com. We’re a small, independent site connected to the @longchildhood TikTok channel, and we try to collect as little as possible. Last updated: August 26, 2026.
What We Collect When You Visit
This site uses Independent Analytics, a self-hosted stats tool. It does not use cookies and does not send any data to an outside server. Instead of storing your IP address directly, it creates a one-way hashed ID from your IP address and browser information so we can see how many people are visiting and which pages they read, without being able to identify you personally. All of that data stays inside our own WordPress database.
If you leave a comment on a blog post, WordPress stores the name, email address, and message you typed, along with your IP address and browser information. That’s a standard part of how WordPress works and helps us catch spam. Your email address is never shown publicly and is only used to run this site, never for anything else.
The Contact Page
Our Contact page has a short form (name, email, and message). Whatever you submit through it is used only to read and reply to you, we don’t add it to a mailing list and we don’t share it with anyone else.
Shortened Links
Some links on this site and in our TikTok videos use Pretty Link, a redirect tool that turns a resource’s real web address into a shorter longchildhood.com link. When you click one of these links, Pretty Link logs the click on our own server, things like the referring page, browser, operating system, and IP address, so we can see which resources people find useful. That click data stays on our site; it is not sold and it is not handed to an outside ad network. After the click is logged, you’re simply redirected to the resource’s real website, and whatever that site does with your visit from there is covered by its own privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies
Independent Analytics does not set cookies. WordPress itself may set a small technical cookie if you log in or leave a comment, purely so the site remembers you between page loads. We do not run advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels on this site.
Advertising and Selling Data
As of today, this site does not run any advertising network, and we do not sell or rent visitor data to anyone. If that ever changes, we will update this page first.
Children
This site is written for parents and caregivers, not for children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website.
Questions or Requests
If you have a question about your data, want something corrected, or would like information deleted, reach out through the Contact page and we’ll get back to you.
